What Makes the Cut for Summer Packing

You would not believe how hard it was for me to pack for 4 months this summer. How much do you pack? What outfits do you leave behind because you just can't fit it in? What’s the weather going to be like?

Luckily, I didn’t just have a checked bag to fill, Zach went to Philadelphia about three weeks before me (while I was finishing my final exams). We filled up his car with about a quarter of our kitchen supplies, two boxes of clothing, and some little odds and ends-like Zach’s Xbox that I got him for Christmas. We didn't have to worry about moving furniture across the country to Philadelphia, Zach had it delivered and the apartment was furnished when I arrived.

I swear these boxes are much bigger than they appear. They were the perfect size to fit in Zach’s car and to pack all of the summer clothes I was bringing, besides the three weeks of clothes that I would need when we were a part.

I love Pinterest! If you don’t have a Pinterest account you need one. It has helped me out so many times in so many ways. I figured I couldn’t pack my whole closet this summer, and I was trying to figure out what was not needed or necessary and what jus twould not make the cut. (which is more difficult than you think) I actually found that I had plenty of room in the black box, I could even add a few more of my favorite things. This capsule wardrobe I found on Pinterest helped me decide what to take and what to leave behind. It makes a big difference when you have some basics or a few staples you can change up with accessories.

Even though you think it may be a tight fit, you can always seem to make it work. We alwasys seem to fit everything we need in our little suitcases when we travel. I was surprised that I could bring as much as I did and fit everything in the car I wanted/needed for the Summer! It's all about planning, organizing, and making it work for you.

xoxo,

M'Taya
